Botond made an appearance in the critically acclaimed TV series, Genius. The anthology drama — broadcast by National Geographic — follows the life and art of Picasso, the painter. According to the storyline the young Picasso feels profoundly inspired upon seeing Puccini’s La Boheme.

#4. Henze: Elegy for young lovers - Detail

Henze’s Elegy for Young Lovers, an opera composed by Hans Werner Henze was staged for the Armel Opera Festival by András Almási-Tóth. Botond performed the role of Toni Reischmann.

#7. Mate Bella: Spring Awakening

Frank Wedekind’s ‘child tragedy’ (1891) discussed – in a way that created a scandal at the time – the conflict of desires and instincts rising in adolescence with the bourgeois order founded on repression and control. The highly talented youthful composer Máté Bella composed an opera as an exam performance for the students of the opera department of the Liszt Academy out of the still disturbing and powerful drama.
